Description
The “dead” language that’s alive in medicine, law, science, taxonomy, Catholic liturgy, and half of English vocabulary. Grammar that makes German look casual (six cases, five declensions, four conjugations), but understanding Latin unlocks Romance languages and makes English etymology transparent. Not conversational. Intellectually transformative. Still required for some graduate programs.
