Description
The Scandinavian language that other Scandinavians mock for sounding like Swedish spoken with a mouth full of potatoes. Written Danish looks like Norwegian; spoken Danish sounds like nothing else. Soft consonants, swallowed endings, and the stød (glottal stop) that makes pronunciation a genuine challenge. But Danes are delighted when anyone tries.
