Teaching budgeting, laundry, basic cooking, resume writing, and tax filing before college rather than assuming they’ll figure it out (like you didn’t). Rescuing from consequences prevents learning. Resilience comes from overcoming challenges, not avoiding them. Start age-appropriate tasks in childhood. Intensify in high school. Release deliberately.
