Van life looks like freedom on Instagram-laptops on beaches, mountain sunrises, minimalist wandering. Reality is different: where to legally park overnight, where to poop, van condensation, mechanical failures in remote areas, and the fact that Sprinter van conversions cost $100K+. Romanticizing homelessness because it’s in a nice vehicle is problematic. Works for some. Instagram omits 90% of challenges.
