Description
Standing near holes that occasionally try to kill everyone. Hawaii’s Kilauea oozes predictably, Iceland’s volcanoes erupt dramatically, Indonesia’s active peaks smoke ominously. Park fees run $15-40, guided tours cost $100-300, and respecting barriers is strongly advised. Some insurance policies explicitly exclude volcano-related injuries.
